Greetings fellow wanderer!
Nice to meet you, I'm Claire...
I live in a small village in the North of England, with my husband (Adi), our 2 boys and a beautiful Romanian rescue dog named Missy.
One day I hope to travel the world full-time.
Exploring new places, investigating old mysteries and
discovering strange oddities. As a child, I loved to escape into a world of books. ‘Ripley’s believe it or not’ annuals fascinated my curiosity, whilst adventurous tales of the 'famous five' captured my imagination.
I let you know this, because it probably helps explain how this current adventure has come about!
The essence of ‘Wanderlust’ is the strong, innate desire or impulse to travel. The Wanderlust way is now my absolute PASSION.
What started as a way to share adventures on social media and Youtube, soon became an addictive hobby.
As a small child, I rarely sat still.
Each weekend began with a head FULL of adventurous
ideas, driving my poor mother insane.Saturday mornings would usually involve grabbing my bicycle (and any friend who had the energy for me)
and together we would traverse muddy lanes. The goal was usually an abandoned barn, hidden lake or suspiciously spooky forest.
Fast-forward 30 years and things haven’t changed much.
The principles are still the same….
Although I’ve now upgraded my Raleigh Pioneer for a more comfortable ride.
And so there starts the beginning of this journey…
Discovering Youtube
It's now clear to me that the same adventurous 'calling' some of us had as children is still there.
We may be 'racking up the years', watching the wrinkles appear & the grey hair peep through, but the urge remains the same.
We often shun it in place of 'adult' responsibilities, but the 'wanderlusting whispers' are never far away.
I was sure there were other people like me, that wanted to see MORE of the world. Adventurous souls that wanted to learn and explore.
So I decided to start sharing my adventure stories...
The urge to learn more from the world and see fresh places."I don’t believe you have to go a long way
or spend a lot of money to have a great experience."
During the Covid pandemic lockdown, travel was put on hold.People were not allowed to leave their homes for recreation.
Luckily for me, I discovered Youtube.
Having always dismissed it as ‘something my teenage sons were wasting too much time on’
… I soon realised my total ignorance to its possibilities.
With a few searches, you could be transported from your computer screen to a world of adventure.
My first ‘trip’ was a tour around Chatsworth house – one of my many ‘bucket list’ destinations.
Within a few days, I’d walked down La Rambla in Barcelona, taken a ride on splash mountain at
Disneyworld and explored the luxurious water bungalows of the Maldives.I did all this without leaving my living room!
I WAS SOLD. Finally, I understood what all the Youtube hype was about.
In January 2023, the Youtube channel was born
Each week I try to keep it updated with travel related content that is engaging and informative.
It's growing every day and with each video, I'm learning new and exciting ways to keep you all involved.
We’re still right at the start of this journey.
Which means you’ve found it at the perfect time!
The question is, are you ready for some
adventure?If the answer is yes…
Have a rummage around the website and pin it to your bookmarks (there are new posts regularly)
Please also feel free to get involved on social media for ‘real-time updates’ and of course head over to the Youtube channel to see where it all started and do feel free to interact.
I'd love this to be a community adventure where we can all get involved and share our travels together....creating one HUGE tribe of travel fans!
Thanks for reading and I’m glad to have you onboard!
Claire x
